my name kirana from indonesia i have 4 pardalis but i still confuse to determine the difference between pardalis pardalis and pardalis babcocki could somebody told me the difference thanks for your kindness |

I see this message is old but has no replies.
I will try... Both being subspecies of the leopard tortoise and coming from different ranges of Africa. The pardalis has 2 spots in its scutes and the babcoki has only one. A wonderful book that explains more is: Chelonian Library Leopard- and African Spurred Tortoise by Holger Vetter Even tho the book was writen pre Geolechone it is a wonderful book. HTH Kim |
