Introduction:

"We're Canadians who acquired our turtles when we moved to Switzerland. We're enthusiastic about joining the Society, and look forward to attending meetings in club members' homes and gardens. We can host a future meeting in our own place in Bellevue."

"We plan to attend many meetings of this club to learn all we can about caring for our turtles. We have just a simple booklet about their care, and would love to borrow more extensive books from other club members to become much more knowledgeable."

Describe the kinds of turtles or tortoises you keep or have kept as pets. How are they housed and fed? Have any of them produced offspring while in your care? Do you have any questions, or can you offer advice, about their care?

"We've had our Trachemys scripta elegans (Florida turtles) for ten years in a 200-liter aquarium, with a basking platform under a sun lamp. Now that we've read the club's web site, we're considering moving them to our garden pond after we fence it in."

Are you mostly interested in keeping turtles and/or tortoises as pets, or in preserving their habitats to assure their survival in the wild? Are you interested in other reptiles, amphibians or other animals? What other specific interests do you have?

"We're concerned with preserving their habitats, but sadly we've done nothing about it. Our main interest is in giving our own turtles the best care possible, which is why we joined the Society. The experts here can probably answer all our questions."

Additional information:

"We've been hearing good things about this organization for years, and finally got around to joining the club. We enjoy exchanging ideas with other turtle owners in the area. It's easy to make friends when everyone has a common interest like this."
